Family Time

Rowen and I have gotten in some good family time these last couple of days. One thing that I really hate is that most of Brent's family lives in Lebanon and we don't get to see everyone as much as I would like. Well, on Monday, we met Kelli, Connor, and Cade at the Zoo. They made the trip to Nashville and I'm glad that they did! This was Rowen's second trip to the Zoo. He enjoyed it just as much as the first time :) He really studies the animals that move around a lot or make lots of noise. Like the last time, he loved watching the Macaws. We stayed at their exhibit for about 10 minutes while we waited for the Kegley's to arrive. They squawk and jump around on the trees and there is a babbling creek that runs through their "home" too that Rowen just stares at!

Watching the Macaws

We took his red wagon this time and it worked out great! He loved riding in it and it was easy to lift him in and out when there were animals to see. The gibbons, flamingos, and meerkats were very active and kept his attention for a while. The flamingos were all huddled together right by the fence. Connor and Rowen loved that!

Me and Row, Row watching the flamingos, Row laughing at Connor, and Kelli w/her boys!

I really enjoy the giraffes. I think they are so pretty. Last time we went there was a mother and her baby out in the grassy area. This time, there were actually 4 giraffes out. It looked like 2 adults and 2 babies. I love their patterns.

There is one of the babies lying down and one of the adults munching on leaves.

After we looked at most of the animals, we took a break for lunch. I just let Rowen sit in the wagon while eating his lunch. And after eating, Connor and Rowen played for a little bit. They were giggling at each other and having a big ole time!

I have loved going to the Zoo. We will definitely have to get a membership for next year!

Today Row and I headed to Don Fox Park in Lebanon to have a little picnic with Mawmaw, April, Kelli, and the boys. Mawmaw had made chicken salad and pimento cheese. She also brought watermelon, cherries, and cookies. It was a nice afternoon together. It was a tad hot and Rowen and Connor were both pink faced and sweaty by the end of our time there. Well, Connor worked up a good little sweat by playing on the playground. Sweat was literally dripping off of him! Cade was such a happy little baby today...just smiling and smiling.

The babies :)

All 3 of the sweeties

It was such a nice time getting to see all the ladies of the family( minus Becky...she was working hard! ). Hopefully it will cool down soon so being outside will be more bearable!
