Some favorites from the week!!

I have been on a crafty kick this week! I'm going a little crazy with the Valentine decor I have been making. I really enjoy simple DIY projects so I tackled a few over the past few days. I saw both of these projects on Pinterest...

{My project. I just used a heart shaped doily!}

And the other project...
Doily heart banner. I actually bought some heart doilies already with the intention to make one!

{My Project}

I used plain white doilies and painted some pink with some paint that I already had! It was a really simple cheap little project!!

I feel like Rowen has become a bigger little boy this week! It seems like he got much older overnight. Like I have said before, he loves life. He loves every little thing throughout the day. Yesterday morning we headed to Kroger to pick up a few things and when we were checking out a cashier gave Rowen a balloon. He was LOVING it! He had the biggest smie on his face and was hitting that balloon every which way!

He absolutely loves balloons. This was by far one of the funniest moments in the past week! I loved watching him have so much fun with something as simple as a balloon.

Brent and I have a new favorite dinner dish! It was super easy to make and tasted great. You should try it!! It was a Campbell's soup recipe: Chicken w/Sun Dried Tomatoes.
 Here's the recipe and the instructions! We happen to like sun dried tomatoes but if you don't, I think the dish would be good with broccoli or even green peas. You could even leave the veggies out if you wanted to!

Rowen has been giving "loves" aka kisses to his animals lately and his parents :) It is by far the sweetest thing he does!! I asked him to gives some loves to his cow yesterday and....

I just about died at the cuteness!!

And like I mentioned a few days ago, I am reading through the book Jesus Calling. Yesterday's page was a really good message.

..."but I read your thoughts continually, searching for evidence of trust in Me"...."good thought choices will keep you close to me."

Happy Thursday!!

Sticks and 6 memories...

Today's high was 61 degrees! What?! The weather right now is getting on my nerves! haha. I mean I love warm weather but one day it will be 70 and the next day 30. It just seems to be making a lot of people sick right now. Check Nashville's weather out this week...

72 degrees is the high for tomorrow and 39 degrees is the high on Friday! Geez! Is the weather like this where you are?? Well, the nice day did allow us to head over to Rowen's favorite place...yep, the park!

 He usually looks around for leaves when we are there and carries them around the whole time we are there! Even when he is sliding and swinging, he has those leaves in hand! haha. Well today he found gold....a stick! He LOVED it. He banged around on every inch of the playground with that thing. I contemplated on letting him bring it home but I decided to just leave it there for another day.
I'm Linking up with Lauren and Tiffany today...I have missed out on a few weeks but I am excited to jump back in this week b/c the topic is: Six memories! I have a lot of memories!! But here are just 6( in no specific order )  :)

1. Rowen's birth! This will be one of my most fav memories of all time! October 24 will always hold a special place in my heart.

2. Our Wedding! August 7, 2010 was a beautiful, perfect day! We shared our wonderful day with friends and family and had a wonderful reception after the nuptials.

3. Valentine's Weekend in Chicago-2011
I talked and talked and talked to Brent about my love for Chicago so much that he decided he needed to see why I loved it so much so we went 2 years ago for Valentine's weekend. It was of course so much fun!

4. Our Gender Reveal Party! I had never been to one of these and actually only knew of one person to have thrown one. I thought it would be a fun way to announce what we were having to our friends and family! It was fun and I am so glad that we had it!!

5. Our Honeymoon! We went to St. Thomas. It was awesome and relaxing! Can't wait to go back...someday!

6. Rowen's 1st birthday! It was such a fun day for him and for us. A very wonderful memory that I like to reminisce about all the time!

**There are memories like my baptism, my first pet, and my first trip to Disney World that I wanted to write about but I didn't have any pictures on this computer to go along with the memory and I really like to include pics!!**

{ weekend update! }

I'm linking up with Leeann and Sami today for my Weekend Update! I'm going to make each days descriptions short and sweet!

{FRIDAY}
Row spent the night at his Bebe and D-daddy's so Brent and I got to enjoy another Friday evening date night!
Waiting on Bebe to pick him up...making a mess of her tupperware cabinet while having a blast!
Just like last Friday night, Brent and I started our night off at Barry's Bootcamp. This was the hardest class yet. It was actually painful! It was so intense that we both lost a few pounds during the workout...crazy!

{after}

After we got ready at the gym, we headed to Carrabba's. Yum!! We still have some Christmas giftcards floating around and this was one of them. I got a really tasty flatbread and Brent got a pasta dish with chicken and mushrooms. It was all so very good.
{started with calamari of course!}

{SATURDAY}
We went out to Lebanon Saturday afternoon to pick up Rowen but stopped by His cousins's house before heading back so he could see them for  little bit! They had a fun time playing. Rowen thought Connor was so funny when he would run past him or run towards him! And Connor loved making Rowen laugh. I'm so glad the 3 of them( Cade too )are all going to grow up together. There are many many fun times for all of them ahead!
{the bottom: the boys playing and not paying a lick of attention to us trying to get them to turn around for a picture! haha. the top: after getting home, acting silly! }
The rest of the night we just hung around and pretty much did a lot of nothing! I had pancakes for dinner and Brent had soup and a sandwich. We laid on the couch and let our sore muscles rest!!

{SUNDAY}
Just a normal Sunday...church, lunch, and hanging around! We did however go to dinner for Brent's Nana's birthday and at Maggiano's!! We had our share of Italian food over the weekend. Oh the food! It's delicious every single time. I had chicken marsala and Brent had chicken parmesean. Rowen had the kids lasagna and had his first bowl of ice cream!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Happy Monday!

Every Monday starting today!

I'm starting a new weekly post! Starting today and every Monday moving forward, I will be posting an inspirational quote in hopes that the quote will inspire at least one person that day or even that week!! So here's the first Inspirational Quote of this new series...

Happy Friday! {Fabulous Finds Edition} + a GIVEAWAY!!

Happy Friday everyone!! Brent and I are going on a date night again tonight! It's so nice having lots of family( babysitters )in town and especially family who love sweet Rowen so much!! It's bootcamp and dinner again and I'm so excited about both.

I have found five fabulous Valentine treats that I want to share! Now before you say "I don't want to read this. I hate Valentine's Day" keep reading! These are some super cute things for yourself!! I don't care much about the "love, chocolate, flowers, etc..." part of the day but I do love things with hearts, V-day home decor, and just pretty little things! All these items are affordable and adorable!

{***}

How cute are these red chevron pillows?? They would look lovely on our tan couch!
You can find them HERE along with tons of other colors and patterns.

{***}

I love coffee. I drink it everyday! Somedays I go to Starbucks to buy iced coffee and other days I just brew Pike's Place at home. I always wrap napkins around my cold drink so they won't sweat on me and of course I put paper koozies on the hot drinks.  These heart "cozy" cup sweaters are absolutely adorable!! They would work on any glass actually....water, tea, lemonade...whatever your drink of choice is.
They're $16/each. Find them HERE.

{***}

I love putting up banners for every holiday! They always add just a little something. This is one crafty project that I can actually make myself. But check out these super adorable Valentine banners that are on Etsy.
This is so cute, don't ya think?! It's $20. Find it HERE.

How fun is this one?! It's $12.50. Find it HERE

{***}

Who doesn't love Emi-Jay hairbands?! You can find them pretty much everywhere...at least around Nashville you can. They have Valentine's bands out for a limited time and they just make me smile!
They're $11.99 for a 5 pack HERE

{***}

And lastly( not so much Valentine-sey but fun ), this is a new NAIL mail club....kind of like Birchbox or Ipsy but seems to be cooler! It's called Nail Art Society and it's $19.95/month. Might seem a little pricey but here is what it's about...
" Join the Nail Art Society and for only $19.95 a month, which is cheaper than the cost of most PLAIN manicures, we will curate and deliver to your door, the latest tools, polishes, and nail accessories for you to recreate current nail trends at home"  Seems like a neat concept.  I love painting my nails and this would be a great way to try out nail products that you might have not picked out or might have never seen before. They stay on top of the latest trends so your nails would always be "in"!
Check out nailart society HERE!

And since I'm in a Valentine crafty mood especially after looking at those banners and creating some myself, I would love to give away 1 heart banner to 2 lucky winners!!

You can choose red glitter hearts or pink glitter hearts! I have the supplies for both!
