If you are using deodorant that contains aluminum, please stop! It's not good for you and doesn't need to be in your deodorant anyways! If you are interested in making your own natural, safe deodorant, I have a quick easy recipe for you.
I have been using this deodorant for about a month now and love it. I mainly love the fact that it only has 4 ingredients...4 all natural, safe ingredients!
Here's what you need:
an empty deodorant container
( you can order one or just use your old one...that's what I did )
1/2 C Baking Soda( aluminum free )
1/2 C Corn Starch
1/2 C Coconut Oil
10-12 drops of Young Living Essential Oil of your choice
Mix coconut oil, baking soda, and corn starch together. Once blended together, add your essential oil and mix in. Pour into your empty deodorant container. Wait an hour or two before using to allow it to become a bit more solid. That's it!
**since this contains coconut oil, it will start to melt if not kept in a cool place. It's also a little on the thick side so you might have to rub it in just a bit.
***This recipe called for beeswax pellets. I didn't have nay and didn't want to go buy any so I left them out. I'm imagining the beeswax would make this deodorant well waxy. That might help it to glide on a little more smoothly. if you are interested in incorporating the beeswax, it called for 1 1/2 TBSP of beeswax pellets. You have to slowly melt them into the coconut oil, let that cool, then follow the rest of the instructions.
I hope some of y'all will try this out! I have found it to be very effective!
