End of the month promo!!!

Just because I really want you to experience the wonderfulness of essential oils and want you to love them as much as as I do!!! The kit goes up in price a little bit in June so if you've been on the fence about purchasing the starter kit, now would be a good time!

And here's what comes in the Starter Kit:

This is a fabulous kit and a wonderful way to get started with oils!! You get 11 oils with this kit! That's a lot by the way..haha! There are many uses for each oil and there's not one oil in this kit that you won't use! I really promise that you will love them!

Here are  few ways that our family uses some of these oils:
Thieves- we apply this mixed with a little coconut oil to the bottoms of our feet most every morning. Thieves is an antibacterial, antifungal oil. It will help keep germs away. We also diffuse this one to kill germs in the air and freshen the air as well.
Lemon- I diffuse this one in the kitchen...smells awesome. I also mix this with my hand soaps and add it to my bathroom and kitchen cleaners.
Mel A( tea tree )- this one has so many uses...we use it on cuts/scrapes, use it in my moisturizer, and in our bug spray.
Lavender is one of my most favorite oils- we diffuse it for a calming/soothing scent, apply it to rashes/itchy skin, and I apply it to my kiddos feet before bedtime to help with a good night's sleep.

I could go on and on about all of these oils. They are really just amazing and ALL NATURAL. Wouldn't you prefer using natural products verse ones with chemicals?!

3 Ingredient Essential Oil Body Butter

I've been using Young Living Essential Oils for about 9 months now but in the last couple months I have really started using them a lot! When I first started using them, I started by buying 2 of the most popular oils and used them here and there. It was a little overwhelming at first but the more and more I used them, I became really comfortable and back in March I committed to the Starter Kit and absolutely LOVE it!  I started selling the oils as well! It's such a fun enjoyable journey! I have made quite a few products with my oils and have enjoyed giving the boot to many chemical filled, yucky products that we had in our bathroom and kitchen.

Today I'm going to share a quick and easy recipe for making body butter!! I haven't used a store bought lotion in months. this body butter is the only thing I use to moisturize my skin...and my kiddos skin too!

What you need:
1 cup of coconut oil
1 tsp of Vitamin E oil
15-20 drops of essential oil

( I used lavender for this one but
you can use whatever you like or
whatever your skin needs.
Lavender is soothing and calming
& really nourishes any type
of skin! )

Put your coconut oil and vitamin E oil in a mixing bowl, turn your mixer on medium speed, & mix for 4-5 minutes or until the oils become fluffy. When they are all mixed together and fluffy looking, add your essential oil and stir into the coconut oil mixture.

Spoon into a glass jar and you're good to go! Enjoy your all natural chemical free body butter that's great for the whole family!!

**Other essential oils you could use: Lemon, Citrus Fresh, Joy, Lime, Stress Away...

Mother's Day 2015

Mother's day was a few Sunday's ago and it was such a lovely day! We didn't do anything really out of the norm, Just a typical Sunday relaxing and spending time together.

We went to church and went to lunch. Last year on Mother's Day we went to a local farm and picked strawberries so we decided to make that a Mother's Day tradition! After the kids napped, we headed to the farm for some strawberry pickin'! My mom joined us on the fun adventure too.

Rowen loved picking the strawberries this year! He would get so excited when we found a good ripe one. He especially loved carrying the bucket around. And Isla...well she loves anything that has to do with food! You can see that strawberry in her hand and she'e eyeing another one!

I love that we have made this a Mother's Day tradition and we absolutely love the Green Door Gourmet Farm! This is such a fun activity and these will be wonderful memories as the years go by.

A little comparison...last year//this year

Quick, easy, and fun craft for your kiddo!!

I saw some maracas on a website the other day and had a clever idea of a fun craft that I could do with my 3 year old, Rowen! He loves crafts of any kind. Who has a gigantic bag of Easter Eggs at their house( insert:: I'm raising both of my hands?! ). We have a huge bag up in our attic. Well I have a craft that you can do with your littles where you can use several of those plastic eggs!

WHAT YOU NEED::
*a couple plastic eggs
*2 plastic spoons for each egg
*something to put in your egg that'll make noise
( dried beans, hard candy, rocks, etc...)
*tape( we used washi tape )

I let Rowen fill the eggs. We used dried chickpeas.

He filled the bottom half of the eggs and then put the tops back on. I put a spoon on either side of the egg and taped around the middle of the spoon/egg and wrapped the tape around a few times. I also taped the bottom of the spoon handles.

This was such a fun and easy craft! And even our littlest member of the family loved making noise with her big brother!

RECIPE:: Shrimp, Chicken, and Pineapple Fried Rice!

Hello blog world! It's been a hot minute since I was on here last! I really haven't taken the time to blog lately...that's my excuse! I am planning on posting at least every other day for the rest of the month! I have lots and lots of things to catch you up on! I'm starting back with a delicious recipe! This is pretty simple to make and the flavors are excellent. If you like fried rice, this is for you!!

So I went off of this recipe HERE. I changed a few things based on what we had at home and I wanted my kids to enjoy this meal so I skipped the spicy ingredients but I DO love me some spicy food!!

Here's what ya need( original recipe):
1 1/2 cups (uncooked) brown rice
1 tsp oil
1.25 lb shrimp, shelled and deveined, (1lb after peeled) chopped into chunks
1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple, cut into small chunks
5 large scallions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 fresh chili pepper or jalepeno, chopped
2 tsp soy sauce (or more to taste)
1 tbsp fish sauce

*So I added 3 cooked chicken cutlets and only used half a pound of shrimp*. We had white rice instead of brown so that's what we used as well. We threw our rice in our steamer and while it was steaming I put the teriyaki marinated chicken and shrimp on the grill. While all of that was going, I chopped the veggies and pineapple. I cheated and bought a little pack of chopped up scallions(about 3/4 of a cup) and that worked perfectly. I skipped the jalepeno and instead added 2 small bell peppers chopped up pretty fine...one yellow and one orange. If you want to make this really simple then you can just buy pre cut pineapple! I wanted to eat mine out of the pineapple so I bought a whole pineapple and used the fruit from that for the stir fry. I would definitely buy fresh pineapple for this recipe. It's just o much better than canned.

When the rice was cooked and the meat was done, I threw everything in a large skillet and cooked it all together till it was warmed through. I did add the peppers and garlic in first and gave those a quick saute before I added the rest of the ingredients.

This recipe was so delicious and if y'all decide to make it, I hope you love it just as much as we did! My kids ate it faster that my husband and I did!

I will say that I enjoyed scraping the bottom of the pineapple and getting little pieces and the juice with every bite since I decided to use the pineapple as my bowl!
