Where did the weekend go?! I'm sure those of you who work during the week feel the same way! Why does the weekend have to go by so fast? Don't you think there should be a work week of 4 days and a weekend of 3 days?! haha. Sounds good to me. This weekend was filled with fun and relaxation. Friday night we went to the last Predators home game and it was super exciting. Bill treated the whole family to the game! Bill, Becky, Matt, Kelli, April, Josh, Kyle, Libby, Brent, and myself. It was a family night in the all-you-can-eat section :) The Predators played really well and ended up winning to clinch a spot in the play-offs! Maybe the Stanley Cup will make its appearance in Nashville this year. It was pretty sweet to get to see it( multiple times )this past June in Chicago!
Stanley Cup Parade...Hot and Chaotic BUT exciting!
Up close and personal view. We just happened to be at the right place at the right time :)
And our third siting in 3 days at the Cubs game.
I really hope the Predators win and bring that cup to Nashville! Yesterday was so nice and relaxing. It was quite warm...mid 80's I believe. Despite the heat, Brent and went down the street to Edwin Warner park and went walking on one of the trails. Most of the walk was in the blazing sun and I burnt up the whole walk while Brent was saying it wasn't that bad...ugh! It felt like it was 100 degrees to me! I know this summer that I will be spending lots of weekends at our pool! Thursday I did get a good run in but went out for a walk today and felt like it was just too hot to run. I'm praying for a cool morning the morning of the 1/2 marathon( 20 days...eek! ). Last night Brent and I went over to my parents house to grill out! I love grilled food and so does Brent. We are sad that we don't have a "real grill". No yard = No grill! A George Foreman grill is just not the same as a big smoky gas grill. So we headed over with kebob fixings and loaded up the grill. We had chicken and beef kebobs and boy were they delicious! The chicken skewers had mushrooms, zucchini, and pineapple. The beef skewers had onions and green peppers. That is one of my most favorite summertime meals! Afterwards we went to...yep, Sweet CeCe's.
My parents had never been and wanted to try it out. There is a new one in Green Hills that we went to. I had the vanilla and raspberry swirl...yumm-y! My dad had pistachio and my mom and Brent got the blueberry. Today was church, lunch, and watching the Masters/napping. We had dinner out on our balcony and it was so nice. Our flowers are already growing and doing really well. They are going to be huge in the next couple months.
As promised, here are baby belly pics:
10 weeks
11 weeks
In this 11th week, the baby (as previously mentioned in an earlier post) is the size of a lime, weighs about .3 ounces and is growing fingernails! Whenever I read the part about fingernails, I immediately thought of the movie JUNO!
I have always liked this movie...there is one part where Juno is talking to her best friend and is totally shocked while telling her that "the baby has fingernails!...FINGERNAILS". It's really cool to think that at 11 weeks and the size of a lime, the baby is growing fingernails :) God has truly blessed us with this gift and we couldn't be happier about this journey!
