A Little Crafty-ness!

So I have been going back and forth about what to hang over Rowen's crib and I finally decided yesterday. I headed to Michael's and I think spent 2 hours in the store...I can't help it! There is so much in there and I have to look at all of it. To make it worse, they have all their Fall decorations out and I love love love Fall decorations so of course I had to look at all of them. I made a wreath for the front door but I will get to that later. So back to Rowen's crib...I decided that I would put his name above the crib and build a little frame to go around it. I looked at frames while I was at Michael's and couldn't find one that I liked plus they were all around $50-$60! Then I got to thinking that I could just make one. So that's what I did!

It's simple but is exactly what I was imagining! It adds just a little decoration but it's not over the top :) So like I mentioned, I just decided to make a skinny frame. They actually had the wood at Michael's. I bought 4 pieces...2 longer and 2 shorter( they were about .60 cents each ) and then I just glued them together. After the glue dried, I painted the frame a goldish/brown color. For the letters, I bought wooden letters and just painted them! I painted them a dark brown then went over the raised part of the letter with the goldish/brown paint. Everything is coming together! I WILL definitely take a picture of everything when I get done and when I get the huge pile of baby clothes/presents out of the middle of the floor! 

This is the lamp that matches his bedding. I made a little owl( like the ones above the changing table ) and stuck it on the base to add a little something!

While on the baby train...I am soooo excited about maternity pictures. One of Brent's friends, Lauren, asked if she could take some for us b/c she is going to start a little side job of photography and I am definitely up for it! I wasn't going to spend money on maternity pictures b/c well...I didn't want to spend money on pictures that I could save and use somewhere else. So we are meeting up with her the first Sunday of October and taking some pictures!! I do have several pictures that I would like her to re-create that I have seen online...here are just 2 that I like out of a ton! haha.

And then of course pictures of Brent and myself :) I definitely want to keep all the pictures classy and not cheese-y. I have a month to get ideas!

So I wanted to buy sooooo much Fall decor at Michael's yesterday but knew that I didn't need to b/c frankly we have quite a bit of Fall stuff already! I did buy some leaves and a bow to make a wreath for the front door. I already had the wreath so I just needed stuff to put on it.
