DollyWood 2015

We took a little family trip a few weekends ago to DollyWood! Brent thought it would be fun to take the kids there and I suggested that we make that our Anniversary trip this year.

It was so fun. That's the first trip in a long time where it was just the 4 of us...it was perfect. We got to Pigeon Forge around 2 or 3 on a Saturday afternoon. We threw our luggage in our hotel room and off we went. If you go to Dollywood after 3pm, you get the next day for FREE! We took advantage of that deal and a day and a half in the park was the perfect amount. We rode a couple rides on Saturday and looked around a little. After a few hours we left and headed to grab dinner.

We woke up Sunday and before heading to DollyWood, Brent wanted to take Rowen panning for gemstones. It was a great idea! Rowen loved this activity. He got so excited every time he found a stone...he even found an arrowhead.

so proud of his bag of stones

We headed to the park after that and Rowen wanted to ride all the rides!! Even the big kid rides...fearless I tell ya! He wanted to ride this up and down drop type ride and he was tall enough so off he and Brent went. I was a little nervous but of course he loved it!!

he looks so tiny

There were about 5 rides that Isla could ride. I didn't know if she would like riding with out Brent or myself...she loved riding with her big brother!! It was definitely a sweet moment. Sweet memories of her and Rowen riding rides together.

We rounded up the day with a few more rides for Rowen, taking a look at the magnificent bald eagle sanctuary, and a grown up ride that I did solo...well I was with 17 other strangers. It was a scary roller coaster! Half way through I thought "oh geez, I'm too old for this"!! But I've realized that I'll be going on crazy rides like that one when the kids are a little older! I actually love amusement park rides but goodness that one was intense!

It was such a fun little weekend getaway...just the 4 of us! I'm already looking for another family trip soon!
