Brent and I had planned to wait and introduce Rowen to cereal when he turned 5 months old. Our pediatrician also said that 5 months would be a good time to start cereal since he was sleeping good. She told us this back at his 3 month appointment. He is 5 days shy of 5 months and we went ahead and started cereal last night. Our reasoning for going ahead and starting it was that 3 nights last week he actually woke up around 3am-4am b/c he was hungry and he had not been doing that at all! Yea, those weren't great mornings! I had forgotten just how zombie like and sleeeeepy you are at those times of the mornings! haha. So we figured he needed to go ahead and start eating a little cereal before his last feeding before going to bed. It must have done the trick because he sleep through the night last night. Hopefully he is back on his normal routine of sleeping 10-11 hours each night!
He didn't know what to think!
Even though his face says otherwise, he seemed to be ok with it once he started moving the cereal around in his mouth.
I think he liked the spoon more than the cereal!
Cute face even covered in cereal :)
He figured out that sucking on his fingers helped the cereal go down...smart boy!
I guess we have added a new step to our nightly routine. And Rowen has added a new substance to his belly :)
Here is a quick video of the first cereal experience!
