Happy Friday!! {a few tutorials on Valentine DIY projects & a recipe}

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend! I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my husband and sweet baby. We have nothing on the calendar for this weekend and I'm glad! I have made a few DIY projects lately but haven't posted tutorials on them so today is the day.

If you have been a reader for a while, you already have seen a tutorial on these. I decided to make glitter jars back in Decmeber for Christmas decorations with sliver and gold glitter. You can find that post HERE. When I noticed a jar on the counter and some of the leftover glitter from one of my other projects, I figured why not make a pink glitter jar for Valentine's decor! This is probably the easiest DIY project and they turn out super cute. So grab some Mod Podge, glitter, and a jar!

1. Wrap the jar with painters tape
2. Spread a thin coat of Mod Podge all over the jar below where you placed the tape
3. Sprinkle glitter over the Mod Podge
4. And that's it!! I let my jar dry a little( 10-15 min )before I peel the tape off.
You can fill it with anything! I am going to head to the store at some point this weekend to get some flowers to put in mine. Maybe some miniature roses!

I had so much fun making these for the giveaway winners last week! I still have oodles of burlap leftover from Rowen's 1st birthday party back in October so I have had fun making different crafty things with burlap lately!
1. I started by drawing and cutting out my pennant that I would use to trace all the others onto the burlap. You can make the pennant as large or as small as you would like. I believe mine was about 4"x 6" and then I cut a little triangle out on the bottom. I also drew a heart on some scrapbook paper and cut it out. This would be used to trace hearts in the middle of the burlap pennants.

2. After cutting out the pennants, I painted each one with some cream colored paint( Martha Stewart's flat paint in Old Porcelain to be exact ). You can skip this step by purchasing cream colored burlap if you want. I like how the paint stiffened up the burlap a bit. I think it makes the banner hang a little better than if it wasn't painted. 3. After painting the pennant, I traced a heart in the middle and painted it. I made some pink ones and some red ones.

4. Once the painted hearts dried, I painted over them with Mod Podge and then sprinkled them with glitter! After the glitter dried, I hot glued a piece of jute cord to the back of the pennants. I spaced each pennant about and inch apart from each other. I think they turned out great!

I made this last night in about 10 minutes. We had a Christmas decoration hanging above our tv...still! I know, I know it's February. To be fair it was just the word "PEACE" so that's not technically just for Christmas :) Anyways,  I pulled out a piece of cream burlap I had laying around and cut out a large square. I then drew a big heart on a piece of scrapbook paper, cut it out, and traced it onto the burlap square. I painted it red and after the paint dried, brushed some Mod Podge on it, and then sprinkled it with red glitter. Voila! I quick decoration for above the tv.

( Not the best pictures! I took them last night and our lamps give off a yellowish glow. )

I made these cherry kiss cookies a few weeks ago and they were sooooo yummy! I will have to make them again soon. They turned out pink b/c of the cherry juice/cherries in the cookie dough so I thought I would share them in case any of you were wanting to make some festive Valentine's cookies!

  6. What cute ideas! You are so festive! I made a giant banner like that for my wedding out of burlap to hang inside a barn where our reception was. It was so cool to see it finished. Your hearts remind me of it. Love the idea! Happy Friday!
