Muscles,The Southern,and a Nature Lover. {the weekend}

I'm linking up with Leeann and Sami today for my Weekend Update!

{Friday}
Since Rowen was all better by Friday night, Brent and I had another date night and it was fun, painful, and yummy!! haha. We started the night at Barry's Bootcamp again. We started our last date night out like this and really enjoyed it so we thought we would do it again. This was by far the hardest workout there yet....actually, it was the hardest workout I have ever put my body through!! Let me just give you a very quick idea of why. Running on the treadmill at an 8% incline @ 8mph( that's a sprint! ), running backwards on the treadmill....5% incline and @ 2.5mph...reverse dips for 2 minutes straight, push ups with one leg off the ground...2 min straight per leg, the list goes on and on. The class is split in half, half the peeps are on the treadmill while the other half are on the floor. There are about 20-30 people in each class. All exercises are timed...usually doing everything for 2 minutes at a time. Oh, and while you are working out, they turn the air/fans OFF! So I literally start sweating during the first 5 minutes( along with everyone else! ). It's insane but super addictive. My muscles fatigued pretty quickly on Friday but I pushed past the pain and was able to do most everything without stopping....Brent too! I can already tell that my lean muscle mass has increased with just the 3 classes that I have been to.

After we lost a few pounds, we quickly got ready and headed over to The Southern to put those pounds back on! haha. We met 2 of our friends, Charlie & Lindsay, for one of the most delicious meals. There are so many new unique restaurants opening up in Nashville right now and I love it! I love food and I especially love GOOD food. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. I had the  Southern Wedge-
iceberg wedge, fried green tomatoes, crispy fried black eyed peas, bacon lardons and bleu cheese dressing and the WHITE CHEDDAR MAC & CHEESE and Brent had the CHICKEN FRIED CHICKEN-fried breast of chicken with white cheddar mac & cheese, southern greens and country ham gravy.  The presentations are pretty and the portions are large! We will definitely be going back!!

{Saturday}
Saturday morning Brent let me sleep in while he went to pick up Row from my parents house. He can't sleep in anymore but that's not the case with me! I love sleep...always have, always will. I am pretty embarrassed to say that I slept till 2pm on Saturday!! If no one wakes me up and I don't have an alarm set, I can sleep for hours...clearly! Rowen DID take a 3 hour nap during part of the time that I was sleeping so I don't feel that bad. Brent had 3 hours to himself! He went and got both of our cars washed and then laid around on the couch. When I finally woke up, I couldn't believe what time it was! Sidenote....do remember though that last week Rowen was really sick and we were up at all times of the night/wee hours of the morning checking on him and sometimes giving him medicine. Sooooo I was pretty wiped from not getting good sleep then. After Row ate lunch, we headed to the park.
There were a ton of kids but not too many that we couldn't do anything. Rowen swang for a bit and then played on the little slide. We ended our time there with a walk around part of the trail they have. He decided he wanted to lead me around so he grabbed my finger and off we went. He picked up a leaf along the way and hung onto it till we got to the car. {total nature lover} His snack times have become quite comical. Brent and I had a good laugh on Saturday. Row always sits in his Pottery Barn chair while having a snack. While I come towards him with his snack he starts pointing between his legs to where he wants me to put his snack. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever and so funny.
I guess I wasn't "refilling" his chair spot fast enough b/c at one point I walked into the living room to give him his drink and found him helping himself to the whole box of cheddar bunnies! Saturday night after Rowen went to bed, Brent and I just laid around and caught up on some tv shows that were on our dvr.

{Sunday}
After church we headed to Cracker Barrel for lunch. We hadn't been in a while and it sounded really good plus they have lots of yummy food that Rowen can eat. He had mac&cheese, carrots, and apple sauce.
Checking out all the toys that they conveniently place at the perfect level for little ones!

We had a lazy afernoon. While Brent and Rowen napped, I hung out on the couch and watched football. I was hopping the Falcons would pull out the win in the first game but they ended up pretty much giving it away! Boo. I'm not a Falcons fan but since my Titans were out a while ago, I chose to root for the Southern team still in.

Rowen loves playing on the iPad. We don't let him play on it much but he does have a few fun games on there...animal games, Thomas the Train, Wheels on the Bus, etc...I think he likes playing on it b/c he see Brent and I on there and he wants to join in! He was having so much fun with a game earlier, I had to snap some pics!
He was giggking and smiling and having a good ole time watching those wheels on the bus go round and round. I love his "I'm concentrating very hard on the bus song" look on the left. We ended the night with pizza and a movie....Brent and I did that is. Brent's choice for the movie...Taken2. It was intense the whole way through. Better than the first one! I enjoyed it.  I hope y'all had a wonderful wonderful weekend! I have some good posts coming up this week including a new cookie recipe post and a "Spring Favorites" post that I will be guest posting over on Meredith's blog.

  11. That workout sounds hard core. I haven't really done cardio in a while, though I've been strength training for a long time. I had a couple of pesky panic attacks at the gym last year, so I have been shying away from cardio. It's just my stupid fear talking. I need to just DO IT! :)

    Thanks for linking up with us on Life Lately this week!
